Dan is a proven leader, business strategist, entrepreneur, manager and marketing professional with deep experience across a broad range of industries around the world. He has served in senior management capacities with both public and private corporations, and has been a long-time public affairs, public relations, marketing and issues advocate on a professional basis, and over the past five years has become a leading advocate and business leader in the medical marijuana industry.

He is the founder of Liberate Physician Management and its primary operating companies including Liberate Physician Centers, Liberate Pain Management, LiberateJAX, LiberateWPB and Liberate420. He also is the co-founder of the first medical marijuana business in Chicago and founder of a national patient advocacy organization focused on ensuring patient-access to medical marijuana therapy.

For 15 years, he was executive vice president and global practice leader at the world’s largest public relations firm, Weber Shandwick and from 2004 through 2008, chief executive officer at GreenTarget Global Group, which he founded in London, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Earlier in his career, he held executive posts at Burson-Marsteller, Ogilvy & Mather and FRB – global communications firms of the highest reputation and scale.

Dan has received over 40 awards for his work and achievements, including Campaign of the Year, B-to-B Campaign of the Year, Owner/Founder of Agency of the Year, and named PR Week’s “40 Under 40” most noted practitioners, as well as the Congressional Medal of Distinction for his work in politics, issues advocacy and public affairs. He holds a degree in journalism from Michigan State University and served on the Dean’s Council at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Dan has been a senior consultant to some of the largest and most respected organizations around the world. He has served as a board member for a Los Angeles-based investment bank; a Chicago-based marketing firm; and a Chicago-based clean-room technology firm, as well as trusted advisor to many Fortune 500 C-Suite executives, business leaders, politicians and regulatory heads including business and economic leaders in the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
